IDENTITY & WORTH

When you’re wondering if you’re enough.

It’s easy to measure yourself by how you look, what you accomplish, who likes you, or what other people think. But your worth was never meant to come from any of those things.

Before anyone had an opinion about you, God already knew you.

You were never meant to earn your worth.

Your identity is bigger than what you see.

Fear can make every possibility feel urgent. Scripture reminds us that we do not have to know every answer before we can trust God.

You can bring Him what you’re afraid of, one thought at a time.

You don’t have to pretend you aren’t worried. You can be honest with God about what you’re carrying and ask Him to help you focus on what is true today.

You can bring God the thoughts you don’t know what to do with.

Truth to come back to

Psalm 139:13–14 — NLT

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

Ephesians 2:10 — NLT 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

1 Peter 2:9 — NLT 9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Matthew 10:29–31— NLT 29 What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

Romans 8:38–39 — NLT 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What to remember when anxiety gets loud

Your worth does not rise and fall with someone else’s opinion.

You do not have to look like someone else to have value.

Being overlooked does not mean you are unseen by God.

A mistake can be part of your story without becoming your identity.

You can grow without hating who you are right now.

You are becoming. You are not forgotten.
A prayer for right now

God, sometimes I look at myself through everyone else’s eyes instead of Yours.

Help me stop measuring my worth by how I look, what I accomplish, or whether other people approve of me.

Remind me that You created me intentionally, You know me completely, and You love me deeply.

Help me recognize the lies I have believed about myself and replace them with what is true.

Teach me to see myself the way You see me and to become the person You are calling me to be.

Amen.

Replace one lie with truth.

Think about one negative thing you keep believing about yourself.

What have I been telling myself?

Write it down.

Then ask:

Is this actually true — or is it something I’ve learned to believe?

Go back to the Scripture above and choose one truth to come back to today.

One lie replaced. One truth remembered. One step at a time.me.
