Anxiety & Fear

When your mind won't slow down.

Sometimes your thoughts feel louder than everything else. You may be worrying about tomorrow, replaying what happened yesterday, or trying to control things you were never meant to carry alone.

God is not distant from you in those moments. His truth gives you somewhere steady to stand.

Start with what is true.

Fear can make every possibility feel urgent. Scripture reminds us that we do not have to know every answer before we can trust God.

You can bring Him what you’re afraid of, one thought at a time.

You don’t have to pretend you aren’t worried. You can be honest with God about what you’re carrying and ask Him to help you focus on what is true today.

You can bring God the thoughts you don’t know what to do with.

Truth to come back to

PHILIPPIANS 4:6–7 — NLT 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

PSALM 56:3 — NLT 3 But when I am afraid,
I will put my trust in you.

ISAIAH 41:10 — NLT 10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

MATTHEW 6:34 — NLT 34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

1 PETER 5:7 — NLT 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

What to remember when anxiety gets loud

You do not have to solve everything right now.

A fearful thought is not automatically a true thought.

You can stop, pray, and return to what Scripture says.

God’s presence does not depend on how calm you feel.

You can take the next faithful step without knowing the entire outcome.

Peace begins with what is true.
A prayer for right now

God, my mind feels overwhelmed and I don’t know how to quiet everything I’m thinking about.

Help me recognize what is true and release what I cannot control.

Give me wisdom for what I can do today and peace about what I have to place in Your hands.

Remind me that You are near, that You care about me, and that I do not have to face this moment alone.

Amen.

Take one small step.

Choose one thing that is worrying you.

What part of this can I actually do something about today?

Take that one step.

Then pray about the part you cannot control.

One moment. One prayer. One step at a time.

Where do you want to go next?
